Joined: 21 Jul 2008 Posts: 1 Bike: My Profile | I have been cycling for about 2 months average about 60 miles a week roughly 3 x 20 miles. My average speed is about 17-18mph. I am fed up of riding on my own and have the opportunity to join a local ride that does about 50 miles at average speed of 18-22 mph. Any tips on what i can do to ensure that i don't act like a complete amateur. And do you think that i am ready to join such a ride out or should i keep building my miles up on my own for a bit longer. I do feel a bit intimidated as its all a bit new to me. Please Advise. |

I myself joined a group when they were all clearly better than me, but a few of the cyclists stayed back to keep me company and within no time I was cycling at their pace. I would definitely just go along and see how it goes, let them know that your not used to doing that mileage and I'm sure there will be no problem :) Happy |
