Hi all

I think I am finally getting my head around all of the variations, but I am still concerned about purchasing items off the internet that wont actually work together. I've tried asking in shops but inevitably they are always very keen to point me in the direction of more expensive alternatives.

I need shoes and pedals for my bike. I'm just starting out and am very much on a budget, so would anyone be kind enough to post some links to decent CHEAP shoes, pedals, and cleats I guess, if they are not included.

Any help very much appreciated

I started with Shimano SPD-SL Pedals , shoes and cleats. Did the job.

Suggest Look Keo Grip Cleats, £20 on wiggle.com, and DHB R1.0 Road Cycling Shoe, £40 on the same site. DHB is the 'Wiggle' brand and I have bought several DHB bits and they are good quality for the 'cheaper' end of the market.

'look' cleats tend to be for road bikes and SPD cleats tend to be for mountain biking (and now touring). SPD cleats have 2 screws and 'look' have 3.

If you go the internet route make sure it is a good site with description of the kit you're looking at.

Hopefully this will be of some help.

Cheers.
