Specialized Sirrus Elite - does what I need to do. |

Joined: 20 Jun 2010 Posts: 15 Bike: My Profile | hi all, I'm new to the forum. I live in Germany in the Odenwald (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odenwald). Heidelberg and Mannheim are quite near, Frankfurt is not far away, even the french border or the black forest can be reached in one day of leisure cycling. For cycling we have the choice of the flat grounds of the Rhine Rift Valley ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upper_Rhine_Plain ) or the Odenwald where the altitude differencen easily add up to 1000m on an afternoon ride. Over the past years I reguarly did a cycling tour with my son. This year we rode from Austria to Venice. I'm not sure for next year, but I think England might be a good idea. So I joined the forum. Maybe I can add some continental view from time to time. regs edwin |

Just recenty returned to the Bike (an old and much loved Dawes ) for tours and hopefully to replace a clapped out, very expensive car-the last service would have easily covered the cost of a good bike. I will try to post some routes, but am keen to make contact with people who cycle nearby or might be heading this way. Dawes47 (that's the year I was born so I am a BOF too. |
