I have an '08 Specialized Rockhopper Disc - I added CB Eggbeaters (SL's) and a few scratches due to taking a crash course in how to fly a bike! :-) Other than that it's standard at the moment... I'm really impessed with the bike tho - very light compared to bikes I'm used to, I've never had hydraulic disc brakes before either - take a bit of getting used to... over the bars a few times at first. |

Now a little saddle sore, well both of us tbh, we are looking forward to our next new adventure pretty soon. Think I need a more comfy saddle thats the first thing on my new shopping list. LOL Thanks for reading will chat soon. |

I have a new Felt QX-70- had it about a month now and I still haven't fallen out of love with it yet. The wife jokes that it gets more attention than she does. I think she's joking anyway... Anyway, hi everyone! |

I use it for commuting although it works out fine on XC, canals and even some more trek rides. Comfortable once you get used to the all round hard frame, plus the V brakes can give you some 'excitement' and not always when you want it |

Joined: 08 Jun 2010 Posts: 1 Bike: | Just joined today - got a Trek 7.6 about a month ago (last year's model) and absolutely love it compared my old Specialized Hardrock Sport (07) which dutifully served its time (including a year in Sweden amid snow and ice). The super fat air cushioned Big Apple Schwalbe were great for coping with unspotted potholes and all the bad road surfaces after such a winter, but in terms of fitness and commuting time the hardrock had become the limiting factor not my fat ass! Doing London to Oxford at the end of the month so that will be the real test, both for the new Trek and my fat ass! |

Joined: 24 Jun 2009 Posts: 1 Bike: | Road Bike: a Surosa Audax. I bought it second hand a few years ago and have updated the basic Campagnolo Xenon groupset to Campagnolo Centaur. Surosa are a local bike shop based in Oldham. Mountain Bike: A Scott Yecora. I bought this from new about 10 years ago. It's my general workhorse bike, the one I use for work in the winter or when the weather is bad in summer. I replaced most of the bike apart from the frame, forks and brakes, last year as it was getting a bit tired. The deore group set has been replaced with XT with SLX shifters. The orignal wheels were nearly worn through so they were replaced with a pair from a work colleague unfortunaltly they're not very good and are out of true already. I was thinking of replacing the forks and wheels but might invest in a completely new bike instead. |

Its a great all round bike, im not a fan of road racing bikes, as i do like to get off road alittle sometimes and my 5800 is great for both on road and off road. |

Had it for about 7 years now and its still really good!! good solid bike, just changed the tyres to slicks for a faster commute ride. Good bike overall. I really fancy a Trek FX 7.9 bike but its going take me a wee bit of time to get with the asking price!! Better start saving!!! |

If it is a fixy as shown on the website, you are no newbie by any means regards darking |

Joined: 16 Jun 2009 Posts: 9 Bike: My Profile | My bikes, I use a Scott Sub 20 for my 9 mile commute, bog standard no alterations. My road bike is a 2007 Felt F55 with lots of mods, I now have Easton EC90 Forks and Fulcrum Racing 3 wheels, both these were put on after a crash in which I smashed my collar bone (neede two ops)and the parts needed replacing. I have replaced the crap Shimano SLR brakes with TRP 980 Carbon and have just fitted a Hope ceramic bottom bracket. I have just purchased Deda Newton Bars and Stem which should be fitted soon. My MTB is a custom built Maxlight Kinesis XC, originally built at the end of 2006 has seen many changes, have just had a complete SLX groupset fitted apart from XT shifters. Rock Shox Reba Race Forks, Avid Juicy 7 Brakes, DT Swiss wheels, Answer Hyperlite Bars, Hope Bottom Bracket. Used to have XT/XTR but wore them out and couldn't afford to replace like for like hence the SLX. |
