midland coast to coast

Joined: 18 Nov 2007 Posts: 2 Bike: | I'm trying to organise a coast to coast event for my friends and family in Lincolnshire. I've done the c2c and w2w but i would like to do something that will end on the east coast a bit closer to their homes. Has anyone any ideas??? |

Joined: 17 Sep 2007 Posts: 6 Bike: My Profile | You could try the transpennine trail? http://www.transpenninetrail.org.uk Alot of it is off road and the middle section has some really scenic bits around Penistone (north Peak district/south Yorkshire). I don't know much about the other sections as I live in Nottingham.. It may not be on the door step but its a bit closer.. Rob H |

Joined: 17 Sep 2007 Posts: 6 Bike: My Profile | Another option from the midlands if you really want to stretch your legs is the pennine cycleway: www.cycle-routes.org/penninecycleway It's 360 miles from Derby to Berwick on Tweed(nearly Scotland). So it probably needs to be tackled in sections. I hope to do the northern section with a deviation to Holy Island in the next year or so. Rob H |
