new to cycling,and needs a kit list of accesories

This is what I always carry: Cannondale hex key combo patch kit 1 spare tyre 1 tube chain cables (1 brake, 1 derailleur) spare brake pads It weighs about 1.5kg. Also, do you feel confident about changing your tube perhaps? If not, then don't bother taking the items which you may not be using them. Inetad a lock will do the job! |

I think Vandad's list is a bit extreme (imho) but I do agree with him that one should only take spares and tools that you are comfortable using. my bike bag contains: (there is a thread called "whats in your bike bag") spare inner tube puncture kit pump multitool (with chainbreaker) tyre levers spare chain link or 2 puncture kit contains extra large patches for repairing rips in tyre walls first aid kit Mars bar :-) For events you can probably get away with carrying less as there are generally repair stations and assistance along the way including medical assistance, but check what the event provides first. Joined: 16 Jan 2009 Posts: 498 Bike: My Profile | i carry: two inner tubes three CO2 gas canisters one CO2 nozzle multitool (which includes tyre levers) self-adhesive patches tenner for emergencies paracetamol all in a small / medium sized under saddle bag. I can do three punctures quickly before i need help. |
