Joined: 09 Jan 2010 Posts: 90 Bike: My Profile | Some low life, scum bag, parasite broke into my shed this morning (0530) and stole my Specialized Tricross, the Police don't hold out much hope of recovery so insurance it is. My Van Nicholas Pioneer was in the proceeds of being released from its shackles when my Dog heard them outside Barked, and the A***holes ran off. What I would of given to off been sat upstairs with a 12 bore shotgun pointing at their Scum Bag Ar**s. If anyone is offered one cheap or they win an Auction on Ebay please look out for one that has a Shimano LX chain set ( the Tricross comes with an FSA Mega chain set) I have also put straight bars on (again the Tricross comes with drops and STI's) it also has a Toepeck rear carrier. Please inform the police if you are offered one like mine. My local area is Stockport Cheshire. Thanks Paul. |

Never really recoverd from this theft as the bike was also a special sentiment to me as I did JOG LE on it. Campag throughout as well Yes a shotgun would come in handy.. |

Hopefully what goes around, comes around and that scumbag who nicked your bike, will get something bad happening to him one day very soon!! Yeah my brother in law got a brand new bike stolen a few years ago. I have two bikes a cheaper carerra hybrid which i use on a daily basis to go to work in the city centre and a very expensive £900+ Chris Boardman bike. I use good lock(s!!) (2) on my Carerra hybrid but just wouldn t EVER take the risk to leave my boardman bike out on the streets even if it had the best locks in in the world!! I insist i take it inside and it is very close to me and even lock it inside! Very security conscious! When i go on road trips and stay in hostels, hotels - a secure place to store my back is top of my list, before booking a place somewhere. But good luck in claiming on insurance or retrieving your specialized bike. |

Joined: 16 Sep 2011 Posts: 13 Bike: My Profile | Sorry to hear about this has happenen to me a few times, but now I have a 9ft fence with barbed wire, and a security light! Also if any you guys are willing to spend a little, you can get a mini gps tracker to place inside your frame po you can always locate where your bike is? Really worth it if you can afford it. Also, the police can mark your bike with a uv reflective pen (invisable to the naked eye) so if your bike is ever found you can prove its yours, other wise its just your word against theres. Another thing some insurers provide a lock and if this lock gets cut and your bikes taken you get new bike and new lock, and sometimes even a discount. Just a few things that may help :-) |
