We are looking to stay at bike friendly B&B's or budget type hotels as with most folk this year money tight. Not want to camp as like a little comfort. Mileage per day not massively important, around 40/50 miles max as we intend to visit some cafe's along the way. |

If you do choose Holland, one of the best websites for info about accommodation is http://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl/ They have an english version of the site and it has hundreds of b&b details for cheap stays in a bed rather than under canvas. Also for planning your route I would recommend http://www.routeyou.com/home.en which can create a cycle friendly route for you and gives you the total distance and gradient climbed, generally zero as no hills in Holland! Good luck |

But the good news is that last week I got my copy of their yearly booklet. 3600 hosts in the Netherlands and 75 in France. 19 euro pp/pn. Membership is 10 euro (UK). http://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl These maps give a good impression of the density of their network: http://maps.google.be/maps/ms?hl=nl&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=215743440519068246688.00048c786978545ba7831&t=h&z=5 http://maps.google.be/maps/ms?hl=nl&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=215743440519068246688.000486520a11618c85770&t=h&z=6 http://maps.google.be/maps/ms?hl=nl&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=215743440519068246688.000486676a087d4c9aabc&t=h&z=8 http://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl/Overzichtkaart-2009.jpg |
