Cycling to Stranraer

Joined: 07 Oct 2015 Posts: 2 Bike: | Hi, anyone got any tips on a cycle route to the ferry (from a train station)? Perhaps the NCN via Newtonstewart- anyone done that? How would I find out how long it is and how long it might take/aka hilly etc? Mucho gracias folk. Shauna |

Joined: 23 Aug 2013 Posts: 35 Bike: My Profile | Hi Shauna, You don't say where you're starting from but I find ridewithgps.com is a pretty good site for calculating routes. It shows a profile and by dragging the route around on the map you can try different routes to avoid any particularly steep hills. It lets you know the distance covered and can also print out a turn by turn list and you can send a gpx file to a GPS unit or phone. Hope this helps you Cheers Chris |
