It is reported here: Government in talks over tax for cyclists There is a campaign set up to stop this in the Scottish Parliament. You can see it here: No bike tax I've just signed - it is crazy stuff and must be stopped. |

Typical, they harp on about climate change and identifying greener ways of travel etc, and then plan to tax people on an environmentally sound way of travelling! Not big on politics so if i have misunderstood this, please don't shout! Cheers Jim |

Quite why they believe they should have the power to do anything other than decide the colour of traffic wardens socks is beyond me. There has always been a Scottish Executive. Should be enough. We used to fund an MP and their entourage, and one Parliament We now fund an MP, an MEP and an MSP, three sets of staff and researchers, and three Parliaments. It's buffoonery, i tell you!. |

A Scottish Government spokeswoman said: "Scottish ministers have no plans to charge cyclists for using the roads in Scotland." sounds like another typical stealth tax |

We get very little consideration when out on the roads, in both the attitude of some other road users towards us and the facilities provided, (e.g. sensible and safet cycle paths). Why should we pay for this "privilage". This sounds like political suicide to me. What next? A tax on walking boots?! Rant, rant, rant, etc.!!!! |
