No - I would like to next year when I'm a bit more experienced so it will be interesting to hear what it is like!

Just to let you know the Wight ride was great fun. Weather fantastic, views stunning especially on the south side. Lots of hills, in fact not many flat bits. The only negative was poor route signs, some areas no signs at all, so had to work out own route. Most riders seem confused about following route signs. Not really a problem (hard to get lost), but official route would have probably been more bike friendly. Only found one water stop in 50 miles, although may have been others, no marshals to be seen.

Not that many entrants, probably no more than 500, so could go for miles without seeing another bike. Traffic light, cars well behaved (except for a few idiots).

All in all a great day, and will definitely go next year. In fact given poor organisation might as well just do the ride without the charity.

Where do you get the info for the IOW bike ride for next year? Sounds like fun!

Hi Martin,

Sounds like it was a great day on the Isle of Wight! I am definitely going to do it next year but will need a little more training to cope with all those hills...!

Guys, the ride is run by the British Heart Foundation. I don't know why it's not better attended. Maybe it's a bit to far south, but when the sun is shinning the views are breath-taking. The ferry from Southampton was 12.90 for an adult and 5 pound to enter the ride.

see you next year.

regards
Martin
