LONDON TO PARIS BIKE RIDE in aid of Doctors of the World UK

Following the huge success of our 2010 bike ride , Doctors of the World UK (MÃ©decins du Monde) is calling for more daring cyclists to sign up for the sixth London to Paris Bike Ride 2011. This incredible three-day challenge covers 242 miles (387km) of stunningly beautiful countryside finishing in the romantic city of Paris where the Tour de France ends, the Arc de Triomphe. The team leaves London on Thursday 14th July, arriving at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris by late afternoon on Saturday 16th July. Cyclists can rest their tired legs on Sunday 17th July, sightseeing and enjoying one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The funds raised will be used to provide medical care to vulnerable people around the world who are touched by natural disasters like the earthquake in Haiti or the floods in Pakistan. It will also help those affected by conflict, like our ongoing emergency mission in Iraq, and those touched by extreme poverty like those helped by our HIV/AIDS prevention project in Myanmar (Burma). As well as helping those further afield, Doctors of the World also runs a project right here in London, where our clinic vulnerable people get the healthcare they need. Participants pay a Â£99 Registration fee, then pledge to raise Â£1,300 in sponsorship funds to cover all the costs. Teams made up of 5 people or more, will benefit from a reduction in the final fundraising target.
