Hi All,

Just a reminder for those that don't already know. The Straven 50 mile event is on Sunday the 20th of August.

This is an organised charity event that involves a 50 mile cycle around some of Strathaven's very scenic routes. There is an alternative shorter cycle (15 miles) for those wishing to take part but not cycle the full 50 miles.

This year they are encouraging runners to take up the challenge of running the 50 miles and hence being termed the Strathaven Ultra Run.

I am hoping to take part (in the cycle bit anyway), I'll keep you posted.

Alan

Hi Happy,

Just joined up yesterday and thought you may want the following info:

The 2007 Strathaven 50 is on Sunday 19th August and for the first time l've known, it does not conflict with the "Pedal for Scotland" Glasgow to Edinburgh charity run which is on Sunday 16th September.

The audax 2007 is on June 3rd

There are three runs on the Strathaven Audax day, the longest one 123km and may of interest to you. On a good day this is a nice route. Reading some of your runs, you will likely be familiar with some of these roads no doubt.
