Cycle Steps
Starting at Bishops Lydeard with its steam engines head toward Taunton on the A358 until you reach the cross keys round about. Take the first exit follow A358. Take the detour at Greenway cresent if traffic heavy, but if not follow 358 to Obridge roundabout and carry straight over and same again at next picking up route from here.

Head through Monkton Heathfeild and up the dual carrage way, A38 and turn off to right heading towards Glastonbury A361. (WARNING you have to cross dual carrage way and on coming cars come round a sweeping bend very fast !!!).

Lighter traffic now through Durston and lower Durston and into west Lyng. As you enter West Lyng look for sign to north curry on right, take turning this will take you across part of the levels with swans rivers and spectacular floods in the feilds at the right time of year. Climing the small hill into north curry you come to shop and pub turn left then look for the sign on your right posted Helland, another road that has wild life and scenery.

Follow until you get to the main road A378, turn left straight on to a slow semi drag up hill, there are some nice views from the top to your right and a garden centre with light refresh on the left. Carry on toward five Head and take the 4th turning on your right, (after top of hill, if you reach car sales on your right youve just missed it)

Down hill to bottom sharp left turn on a right hand bend and follow road round to right passing village post office follow road into isle brewers small village big weeping willow trees by garage, narrow moor roads little one car hump back bridges and wild life.

When you reach westport B3168 turn left passing pub on left, slow climb passing church on right up in to Hambridge, as village green opens up on your left post office on right and pub in front on left turn right at pub(lamb and lion). Down hill on to open levels, enjoy at end of level sharp up hill passing farm both sides of road at top grass tri angle on right turn right here passing farm on right(if you carry straight on the famous burrow hill cider is 400/500 yards on right).

As you pass farm on right it opens up to spectacular views . Follow road round sharp left and on to junction left here then almost straight away turn right on bad left bend heading toward East lambrook. As you get into East lambrook take right hand turn where house is in middle of road then pass pub left heading now toward south petherton slight up hill from lambrook at junc turn left toward parrett works passing caravan sales and reclimation yard follow road to junc turn right taking you passed yandels art & craft gallery up in to bower hinton passing pub on left, at the top on left theres a fine dine resturant and b&b.

Follow road through until you reach A303 turn right and go down left under bridge and then up to top of slight hill turning left by big tree. Straight road in to stoke-sub-hambdon with shops, pubs, pharmacey, restaurants and ham hill sign posted from middle of village, carry on through to east stoke .......

If you go to ham hill it has a very steep climb to the top but worth the views from the top. there is a pub at top and ice cream man in summer. Do it, it is worth it!!!
