This cycle route mostly consists of quiet roads & parts of the national cycle network. It passes through Callander, then you have a nice long climb leaving Callander for about 10 miles. I did pretty much the same route on 3rd September as part of a week long ride, but starting in Stirling. I'd agree with the comments, with the ride being very scenic along side the Loch, but with a 2 or 3 mile downhill section on the way in to Killin itself making it all worth while. The switchback sections of the cycle path are fairly hard going for a hybrid (my bike), but would be a lot easier on a full out mountain bike. I'd agree with the 6/10 rating as a whole, but don't forgoet about the harder switchback sections. | ||
