This a good route taking in some quite picturesque villages in a loop north of Ipswich, trying where possible to avoid the larger or busier sections of nearby A & B roads. There are a good variation of hills for those who like a challenge. There is a particularly sharp bend with a 12% gradient on the A1120 at Pettaugh that is worth bearing in mind.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Mainly nice village pubs along this route, the Fountain at Tuddenham does good food as does the Sorrel Horse at Barham. There are also village stores at Claydon, Otley and Coddenham. Other than that, just enjoy the green and pleasant countryside. |
