This is the long version of route A. Starting from Coleshill town hall car park proceed down Maxstoke hill continue on past garage to castle lane. Turn left into castle lane proceed past Maxstoke golf club. At the end of Maxstoke lane turn left onto Coleshill road then right onto watery lane. Turn right into station road with passing Water works and over the railway again. Proceed through the village turn right as the houses finish on the right. Continue right crossing the railway again. At the fork got the left up short rise then down to sharp right. Continue straight passed Bakehouse lane to the cross roads turn left into Reddings lane. At the end of Reddings lane turn left passing to the right of the Gate PH. turn right at the cross road into Dog Lane pass the Dog PH the route climbs from here. At htr T junction turn right and follow to the main road turn left downhill before climbing steeply again before levelling onto a long straight before dropping again, then a twisty section through trees passing pub on the left. Turn left at the monument proceed down hill taking the left fork into main road. Left onto Tamworth road continue onto Hurley common then left onto Knowle Hill. Pass Archers Garage up and over the hill down to join the Coventry road. Turn right and continue passed the Kingsbury rifle range under the rail bridge to the island. Here you can take first left to miss out Kingsbury water park or take second left and then first left over the river bridge into the park. Again first left will miss out the busy parts of the park in summer. Leave the park via main gate and turn left proceed along Bodymoor heath road and Coton road. Continue over bridge with traffic lights to junction at the White Swan PH. Turn right into Birmingham road proceed crossing a railway bridge before bearing left then right, in Lea Marston, into ham lane. At the end of the lane turn left and then right at the island into Edison way. Turn right toward train station crossing the railway bridges continue to lights. Straight on returns you to starting point via station road and high street | |
