Flat and easy 40 miles all on minor roads barring a couple of stretches near Lechlade and through Burford. Beautiful countryside and some good Cotswold villages. Only two short inclines that are in any way testing
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
If you want to turn it into a sightseeing trip, the Tithe Barn at Great Coxwell (always accessible)and the National Trust village at Coleshill are worth a look. Lechlade and, particularly, Burford good for mooching. If you take a short detour near Lechlade you can also take in Buscot House and Gardens (check it's open as it isn't every day). Lots of good pubs en route particularly The Trout at Lechlade, The Swan at Southrop and the Radnor Arms at Coleshill. |
