Cardiff Bay to Mumbles Pier via Bonvilston, Llantwit Major, Monknash, Ewenny and Kenfig. Suggested route for FNRttC. No challenging climbs. There's a dull uphill on the A48 just after the Culverhouse Cross roundabout, a few ups and downs on the rather splendid road from Bonvilston to Llantwit Major, and two climbs on the Wick-Ewenny Road. After the Halfway there's a boring but unavoidable section of the A48, and then a final climb up to Tythegston on the A4106. After that it's gently undulating to pancake flat the whole way, and can be very fast after Kenfig if there's a tailwind. The Kenfig loop offers a good dawn view of the Port Talbot Steelworks from a long way off. |
