| Upon leaving Glos Docks head straight to Tewkesbury, direct main road. Follow through the town centre towards Bredon. Left towards Pershore and continue along the main road until a right turn towards "The Combertons". This road goes steadily uphill for 2 miles then a series of sharp bends downhill and uphill work following the main road until you reach a t-junction. Turn right to Elmley Castle. Once there go through the main village past the town hall until you reach a left turn between two walls. If you've reached the church you've gone too far. Follow this road all the way to Ashton Under Hill and continue straight along the main road until you reach Beckford. There is a silk centre here to stop and have coffee/cake or alternatively you can follow the main road, til junction, turn left over a bridge and then reach the Beckford Inn (nice beer garden and should be about 2hrs 15mins to here). Once going again head straight over the very main road towards Gretton. Good long uphill section here so select thr right gear and "chunk" it out til you come to a junction and head right towards Gotherington. After this towards Prestbury (past Prestbury Speed Hill Climb)and continue along the main road until you rach crossroads on the major Evensham road juntion. You'll see a garage to your left. Head straight over this crossroads and follow a lovely straight road for a few miles. From there head towards Staverton airport and then Gloucester picking up the same route you set off on. Enjoy! |
