This is a road route, mostly on nice A, B and country roads, that has bits of rough tarmac from time to time, and a couple of lumpy bits but nothing too serious. The route offers beautiful views across to North Wales and the Cheshire Plain. Plenty of 'watering holes' along the way, if need be! The route leaves Hawarden on the A550, heading for Penymynydd, passes straight over the A55 roundabout and straight over the A549 roundabout, staying on the A550. It then forms a loop taking in Penymynydd, Penyffordd, Hope, Llay and Rossett on the Welsh side of the border, Pulford, Dodleston and Lower Kinnerton on the English side and then via Higher Kinnerton on the Welsh side again. The loop is closed when you turn right at the A549 roundabout, back onto the A550. You then go first left at the A55 roundabout, turning onto Drury Lane. You follow this through Drury, then turn right into Burntwood Road and head through Hawarden back to the start. |

Did the route in 1 hr 31, suprised at a few hills and deceptive rises, made me sweat on a hot day, but overall enjoyed the ride. | ||
