This is a mostly flat, road route, on a mix of A and B roads and farm lanes, with a few undulations. There is just one potentially busy section, thro' the outskirts of Kilmarnock. If you want to feel even safer, do this during a weekday, and the biggest hazard you face could be the odd heard of cows being driven back to the farm for milking. The route touches each direction on the compass at some point, so, If you're struggling with a headwind it should soon be at your tail. Reward yourself with a coffee and cake at the Maritime Museum on completion.

Enjoyed the route, The ones Ive been doing lately are more hilly so it was a pleasant change. i`m new to the sport so i`m loving everything at the moment. i have a route which leaves the girdle toll in Irvine heads to Stewarton bears left over towards the Barrhead road then over to Dalry back into Kilwinning through Benslie to the girdle again. This is an excellent route mostly back roads. I`ll post it when i work out how to.
