Starting at Kingston train station cycle through the town centre then cross Kingston Bridge. Immediately turn left to follow the river all the way to Hampton Court Bridge. Here turn right and go straight ahead over the roundabout, follow the road around the right hand bend and then turn left into Bushey Park Opposite the King's Arms. Cycle straight through Bushey Park along Chestnut Avenue and then, when exiting the park turn left and keep ahead to cycle through Teddington and on to Teddington Lock. Push/carry your bike over the two bridges over the river and turn left onto the tow path. Follow the tow path from here all the way through Richmond, under Kew bridge until you get to the Old Ship pub at the big brewery where you turn right. Turn left at the road and follow the signs to Mortlake station. Straight ahead over the level crossing and then straight ahead over the next crossroads, carry straight on up the windy hill until you enter Richmond Park. Straight ahead here too, over the little roundabout until you pass The White Lodge at the top of the hill and can see Pen Ponds in the distance on the right. Follow this road past the car park and around to the left until you get to another roundabout at Robin Hood Gate where you turn right. Keep going up the (very) steep hill until you get to Kingston Gate next to another car park. Out of the park gate take the first right and then left at the other end and follow that road back to Kingston town centre where you'll return to the train station. | |
