This is a road route on a mix of roads, with a variety of climbs and decsents. Leave Maidenhead on the Marlow Road, A308, then take steady climb to Winter Hill, drop down Quarry Woods steep descent and then turn onto Bisham Rd into Marlow. Continue through Marlow up the High Street. Take left at top of High Street onto A4155, and then next right into Oxford Road, heading towards Fingest. There is a hard start to a climb, which then levels off for around 5 miles. Cross the junction at Fingest and at the end of the climb turn left for a short while then right towards Turville. This climb starts very steady, but cuts through a gully and is very steep for the last mile. At the top turn right and keeping climbing for a further mile and a half to Christmas Common. At Christmas common take a left at the junction and take the steady false flat towards Wallingford, at the next junction after 2-3 miles take the turn to Nettlebed, on the B481. On reaching Nettlebed turn left and take the Henley Road, A4130, which climbs up again before a long fast descent down to Henley. Cycle through Henley and across the river. Take the second left after the river and take the Remenham route. Keep going straight until the Honey Pot Pub and then take the mid sized steady climb back to the main Henley Maidenhead Road, A4130. Take a left turn onto the main road towards Remenham Hill, and then first right towards Warren Row. Continue to the A4 junction and turn left, back to Maidenhead. |
