The route starts on the the Mangotsfield spur of the Bristol - Bath cycle path, taking the avon cycleway towards coxgrave hill where it joins the road. The route takes quiet lanes to get to the A432, the A432 to yate does have a cycle lane on the road. Once in yate follow the B4060 to chipping sodbury. You will cycle through the wide main street in chipping sodbury and exit left at the end of the street to follow a lane that takes you to sodbury common,you will need to bypass two cattle grids at each end of the common via a large gate (unlocked). There is also a steep hill in Horton, most of the route up until this point is rolling or flat, but once recovered from the hill climb, you will be on a mostly flat or a slight incline towards Hawkesbury Upton. This ride is 25km (or 50km returning to the start point) |

The route passes at least three bike shops, two in yate and one in Chipping Sodbury, it also crosses sodbury common, climbs Horton hill and finished by the Somerset Monument near Hawkesbury Upton. There is also a small shop and a pub in Hawkesbury Upton. |
