This cycle route is approximately 11 miles around Montrose Basin. Take care on A935 pavement - overhanging branches & large lorries passing. Walk along The Lurgies' from Waypoint 17 to Waypoint 23 (there is no cycling allowed in this section so please show consideration). It should take you approximately 1hour at an easy pace. A395 is very busy with speeding lorries. ''Cycle path'' is just a pavement, narrow in places, gravel covered in places, poorly maintained and no view of the basin. The Lurgies is not ridable with a road bike. Highlight is the Scottish Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre. Note the GPX does NOT overlay the map on Garmin so cannot be used as a course. | ||
