Start at the New Mill, facing away from the mill take the first left onto a track into Bramshill forest. Proceed to the first track crossroads and turn sharp right following the electric pylons north. Follow track which will pass under the electric lines and head west until it is running parallel with Well House Lane. Follow the tracks closest to the lane until the north western corner of Bramshill forest is reached pass onto Ford Lane and head north towards the River. When the river is reached, the more adventurous may like to cycle through the ford! Alternatively there is a small footbridge off to the right which can be used. Carry on up Ford lane until a T- Junction and turn right onto sandpit lane. At the end do a right onto Church Road into the village of Farley Hill. Make a left onto Castle Hill, Follow to the end then do a right onto Swallowfield Road. When you reach Greensward Lane on the left follow it to the Reading Road A327. Turn right follow it for a few yards until a turning on the left which leads to Church Lane. Do a left and head to the Church. Turn right and go past Hall Farm then the research centre and eventually bear right at The Holt, Right at Park Farm Stables, through a small Ford. Turn Right and then go straight on down the Byway past the Bearwood Riding Centre then straight over the B3030 to Gavelpie Hill. Do a right, through a small ford and emerge at Arborfield Cross. Follow the A327 to Arborfield Garrison then at the second roundabout follow the Byway toward Farley Hill. Emerge at the Great Copse, Head back down Castle Hill Taking a right at the bottom and then a left onto Sandpit Lane. Follow this back to the Ford then proceed back to Bramshill Forest. Head east through a choice of tracks using the power cables as a guide, the exit back to the new mill is in the North Eastern Corner of the Woods. | |
