A route I do to Brighton which incorporates the majority of the London to Brighton bike, including Ditchling Beacon.

The ride through London is relatively flat but fast paced going through the likes of the Edgware Rd.

Once you reach Croydon it's almost entirely B roads from then on to Brighton, with a number of hills to tackle. Most are pretty comfortable but finish off with Ditchling Beacon - a tough but but managable hill.

From then on it's pretty much downhill to Brighton.

Some great scenery along the way and of course the beach to finish up at.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
1. Urban Section from Colindale - Croydon
2. Hilly countryside from Tanridge - Wivelsfield
3. Killer Hill, also know as Ditchling Beacon
4. A pretty comfortable downhill ride from there to Brighton ending up at the Mash Tun for a well deserved pint and roast!

Did this route on Saturday and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Really varied in terms of surroundings, vistas and difficulty of different sections.

The bit through Croydon is gross, but after that you're in the countryside and it is beautiful.

We were on single speeds which meant a couple of the hills broke us, but great route either way. Enjoy The Ridge!
