| This is a road and cycle path route, and is effectively the bottom loop shown in the map. Starting at B on the map, follow the Rochdale Road, A664, south. Turn left onto Queen's Road, A6010, and follow this via Alan Turing Way and turn left into Ashton Old Road, A635. Join the Fallowfield Loop (Sustrans Cycle route) by head down Booth Road, past Fairfield Train Station, and follow this through to Chorlton. Then turn right onto Manchester Road,B5217, and then right onto Upper Chorlton Road, B5218. Head onto Moss Lane West and East, B5219, crossing the A5103 junction. Cut across Whitworth Park to join the Oxford Road, B5117, heading into Manchester City Centre, where there is convenient outside seating available for refreshments at Kro Bar by the BBC. Continue on Oxford Road and turn right onto Whitworth Street, B6469, to join Fairfield Street. Turn left onto London Road, A6, by Piccadilly Train Station, and follow the one-way system via Whitworth Street and Auburn Street onto Ducie Street. Then turn left onto Peak Street sweep round on Laystall Street and left onto Great Ancoats Street, A665. Follow this to the right turn onto Oldham Road, A62, Turn left onto Thompson Street and at the end, right onto Rochdale Road, A664. Head north for 2 miles to get back to the start point at B. | |
