This route runs mainly along canals. Although the bulk of the route is flat, there are 2 - 3 VERY steep hills that will require you to dismount and push. A mountain bike is recommended for this ride as the gears will come in handy. BMX not recommended. The towpaths along the canal are mostly pretty wide, but in a few places it does get narrow for a couple of metres.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
On the way, at the end of the road "To Tunnel Top North", there is a pub called "The Tunnel Top". There are no more shops/pubs until the end, where you will find the "Leigh Arms" pub. |

The canal section to Tunnel Top is lined with Hawthorn hedging so be prepared for punctures this time of year, I got 5! A good alternative is to follow the Weaver under the viaduct and come up through Aston via the bridleway. Makes a good loop.
