The ridge over looking Sabden, the down hill into Barley, the circumnavigation of Pendle Hill and into Downham (the alledged centre of the United Kingdom). Continuing on towards Longridge, then reurning along the river into Whalley and back to the start of the route. Most of the route is on B roads where little, if any, traffic is encountered. Allow 3 -4 hrs to include a stop.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Pendle Hill. Downham the alledged centre of the UK. Great tea and cake stops in Barley and Downham. So many sights to see too many to list. No matter what time of year you do this route it is always different as the seasons change the colours and scenery. |
