There where seven of us on the ride and we started in Grimsarch village missing out the industrial area and main road start. this was as much for parking as any thing else, as we travelled from liverpool. The route was mainly traffic free The five hills involved were punishing and a couple of our group sort of struggled a bit but did manage them all. We were fortunate that the road from newton to waddington was closed to motor vehichles for maintenance and so made for a great asscent from the top of waddington fell and into waddington village. Great little cafe just past Waddington Arms and very cyclist freindly. In all great ride great scenery and views. Total 40.2 miles time of 3 hours 24 mins. Reasonable fitness required. | ||
