Cycle Steps |
1. This is a circular route that takes in the majority of the borough of Fareham. You pass through some superb places such as Haslar Marina, Stokes Bay, Lee-on-the-solent, Hill Head, Stubbington, Titchfield, Wickham and Portchester. There are literally loads of stopping off opportunities all along the coastal section of the route - I stopped for a break at Hill Head, a lovely spot with a great view of the IOW.
There are several testing climbs on the inland section of the route, so save some energy for these! |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Along this route there are several places of interest to visit or stop off at, such as:
The submarine museum in Gosport, Haslar Marina, Stokes Bay, Hill Head, Tichfield Village, Wickham Village, Nelson's Monument (the original one!) on top of Portdown Hill, Fort Nelson just next to it and of course Portchester Castle.
There are numerous pubs & tearooms to stop at and I would particularly recommend Titchfield and Wickham, where there is a lot of choice.
