Cycle Steps |
1. A loop out of Edinburgh to the coast and back, mainly on fairly open roads, with some nice views.
Sometimes better done in reverse (ie via Seton Sands/Longniddry) in that wind can be fierce in face when cycling from Longniddry via Prestonpans etc.
If done that way, though, the route from Longniddry to Pencaitland has some long uphills that could be tiring: same hills are fun to zip in down the "standard" direction, from Pencaitland to Longniddry
A few nippy little hills through the park at the end of the run, too, but they're not big so they're bearable. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
There's a bike shop in Musselburgh (closed Weds and 1-2pm every day) as well as The Bicycle Works on Argyle Place (ie very near to start/finish of loop)
Seton Sands Caravan Park has, I'm told, a very good chip shop! Also, it's a nice place to stop for a wee rest and a look at the sea-views. There's a handy bin there, too, for energy gel wrappers etc.
