Cycle Steps |
1. A nice 24 mile route on mostly single track roads through mildly undulating Suffolk countryside. You pass through Woolpit, Rattlesden, Felsham, Cockfield & Thorp Morieux all which have good food serving pubs. Felsham has a shop for chocolate intake.
If you are lucky, you may see gliders flying around from the old air base at Rattlesden or the big yellow Sea King from RAF Wattisham. Also in the sky are buzzards and in the fields you may get a glimpse of a nervous deer.
There are very few hills and those are small, best consider the wind as a westerly would put it behind you on the way back to the finish.

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Bilderston has the nearest bike shop and it is a little gem, but be careful it has a LOT of eye candy and you could spend the kids inheritance there.
Stowmarket has a nice market square and plenty of food shops, but not many good places to eat. 'Tall Orders' is an exception if you just want a tea, sandwich & cake.
