1. This route can be started at any point but taking Hailsham as the starting point it takes in the Historic Town of Lewes, past Anne of Cleaves House, down the C7 Road following the Ouse valley down to the Ferry Port of Newhaven. The next section rides down into Seaford the purpose built cycle route past Tide Mills and then it briefly takes you along the sea front before heading back inland on the Up and Over into Alfriston Village. From Alfriston you cross the A27 (be careful here) into Berwick turning right towards Arlington then back towards Hailsham. | |

Lewes! Anne of Cleaves House, the C7 Ouse Valley stretch, check out Breaky Bottom Vineyard (you can find their delicious sparkling wines and champagnes in Waitrose if you are lucky). Tide Mills between Seaford and Newhaven, Seaford Sea front, the View across the Cuckmere Haven down to the sea from the up and over, Alfriston Village, Arlington Reservoir and finally Arlington Stadium. |
