1. This is the route taken by Colchester United fans on the annual charity cycle ride for the Teenage Cancer Trust. It is a reasonably flat route on very quiet roads through glorious Constable Country. The charity ride stops at The Weston Homes Community Stadium, but I have continued to the station for anyone who may be travelling by rail. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Ipswich Town football ground. Stratford St Mary has several good pubs, some superb restaurants and the Alfred Munnings museum. The route passes a memorial to USAF aircrew killed in WW2 at Roydon airfield. The charity bike riders also stop at the Shepherd and Dog pub in Langham. The charity route turns off at Axial Way to visit Colchester United's new home at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Being England's oldest Town, Colchester has several museums and places of interest, and parts of the old Roman wall around the town can still be seen.
