| 1. A fairly flat ride avoiding main roads as much as possible but also taking in as many country churches as we could, without being too far from Kelvedon itself. Used for the Friends of Essex Churches bike ride. |

Each village on the route has at least one church. Most have pubs that serve food. Tiptree is a sizeable village with several cafes, and Witham is a small town with plenty of places to eat, also GK's bike shop (a small shop attached to a car spares shop). There is also a small garage next to the medial centre in Tiptree which does bike repairs and has some spares. The countryside is quite attractive, and the route is fairly flat.
