1. 30.75 mile all road route, suited better to road bikes wanting a fast circuit. I do this route about once a week & come in at around 1hr 32. The first half is the most challenging and mainly uphill.
For around 14 miles it is hard to get a continual face fast going, so take it easy. However just as soon as you have completed the A20 & recovered from the first steep uphill on the A227, there is no reason why you shouldnt be clocking 25-30mph, mostly downhill to the B260.
At this point you should be around 18miles mainly downhill but with a few small climbs, mostly traveling at a constant 20-25mph. Be prepared for the sting in the tail as you leave the B260; Gore road is a steep half mile climb.
Once at the top you have now completed 25 miles and its time for one final fast push. Princes Road is mostly downhill. The last part of the circuit is not very demanding but it enables the rider to clock a tidy 30miles. |
