Also In East Butterwick, when turning left to Messingham, the junction is at the very southern end of the Village. There is another left, about halfway through, before you reach the pub "The Dog and Gun," ignore that left. Other than that, the route is pretty simple and well sign posted.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
A turf maze, from the middle ages can be seen at Alkborough, from the viewing point there, you can also see the confluence of rivers, Trent, and Ouse, as well as a large nature reserve and wetland area. Between Ferriby and Winteringham you can often see the Humber Bridge (untill recently, the longest bridge in the world) And Brigg has a bike shop near the beginning. (Called Sherwoods Cycles) Also there is a reasonably priced Cafe about 2 miles before you reach Messingham (at Messingham Sands) about 50 yards down a turn off to the left. (It's well sign posted)
