Cycle Steps |
1. A lovely circuit from Boat of Garten (could equally well be done from Nethy Bridge) on very quiet roads - you will be lucky to see a car at all on many parts of it - through traditional pine forest.
A number of short and relatively gentle inclines to be tackled but rewarded by spectacular views of Loch Garten and the Cairngorms when the forest opens out. Lots of wildlife to be seen including Ospreys and Deer. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
The RSPB reserve at Loch Garten is well worth a visit. From the hide you can see an Osprey nest with telescopes and binoculars provided by the centre. There is also a close-up camera transmitting pictures back to the hide (http://www.rspb.org.uk/webcams/birdsofprey/lochgartenospreynest.asp), and every so often a video of the season highlights will be shown - sometimes the story of the birds (such as that of EJ and Henry) is quite a soap opera! The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Also on the route you will find Auchgourish Gardens (http://www.auchgourishbotanicgarden.org) if that is of interest.
