| 1. This is a great one for finding dirt tracks and mudbaths! Between Valley Road and Plough Hill Road, theres an old train line thats made into a grass track.
At the top of School Hill in Hartshill, go left onto Oldbury Road and you'll find Hartshill Hayes woodlands...lots of little windy tracks, good drops and a few jumps. Be respectful and cautious of walkers!
From Hartshill you can get onto the canal at the bottom of Clock Hill and ride into Nuneaton, (though theres a chance of a detour via a public footpath across a few fields and around the perimeter of the quarry, and back onto the canal).
From the canal you can get onto Vernons Lane-Haunchwood Road-Kingswood Road, where you'll find yourself back onto the old Train Line and back to Ansley Island. |

At Hartshill Hayes theres a little cafe and gift shop/information centre, and theres a pub (The Anchor) on the canal where the B4111 passes over, they do bar meals etc, and dont worry if your muddy, they have outside toilets too!
You'll see Judkins Quarry as you go along the canal towards Nuneaton, with the local landmark Mount Judd. (An inflatable Santa can often be seen perched on top around Christmas!)
There are information boards along the canal telling you a bit of local history.
