| 1. Start at Benfleet Station and head along the coastal path towards Southend. At Leigh station go up to the roads until Chalkwell station, to avoid walking your bike on the coast path. At the peir go up through the High Street and continue up Victoria Avenue (A127) until you get to the Tesco roundabout. Continue towards Rochford. The roads towards Hockley through Hawkwell are fairly easy although can be quite hilly in places. Continue through to Rayliegh and then over the Rayleigh Weir (past Sainsburys) towards Hadleigh. At Hadleigh continue down Benfleet High Road towards Essex Way, here give your legs a break while you cruise down the big hill. Finish up back at Benfleet Rail Station. |
