Cycle Steps |
1. This is a hilly sprint or can be taken as a scenic trundle- the views are great and roads fairly quiet.
Pass through Abbots Bromley towards Utoxeter, turn left and head over the resorvoir.
The road over the reservoir is flat but there is often a headwind. At the end of this flat there is a nasty climb so save some in reserve when facing the headwind. After this climb there is a generous downhill section of over a mile and half. After this the route is fairly flat. When you reach Trent Valley train station take a left.
You will go through a mainly uphill section, follow this road to it's end and then turn left. You will now have a fast downhill ride taking in some nice turns too (no need to brake). Take your time on these to recover as the last half mile or so into Abbots Bromly is uphill and slowly drains the legs. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
No particular places on this route apart from pubs- about five in total. In particular, at the halfway point you will find 'The Yorkshireman', which offers great food. On returning to Abbots Bromley, take your pick- five pubs in village!
