1. Start and Finish in Abbots Bromley (several good pubs and eateries). This route is a mix of 'A' and 'B,' roads and some stunning country lanes. The first 3 miles around Hoar Cross are undulating, but no severe climbs. After this the next 15 miles are fairly flat, and provide some good fast riding. On turning right onto A51, heading into Lichfield, you will encounter fast moving traffic and some traffic lights for about three miles. However, once you turn onto the A515, the traffic eases, and when you get through Handsacre the road quietens considerably. This however is where you meet some hills. Again, there is nothing too steep or long, but on heavy legs these can be a pain! |
