| 1. Facing Abbey Gate, turn right & follow one way system around to come past theatre. Keep heading this way out of town. There are rolling gradients from here, especially up Suffolk's steepest hill, in Hartest. More hills from here through to Rede. Hills again and then some relief until south of Stowmarket at Nedging Tye. After Stowmarket, there is a flat run back to Bury St Edmunds. A challenging ride covering the best of hilly terrain that Suffolk has to offer, all on good roads suitable for road bikes. |
