1. This is a pleasant, easy ride that is fairly safe. There are no real hills and a lot of it is on cycle ways. Starting from Stamshaw go to Southsea past the ferry port and around the dockyard. Continue along the seafront to Eastney and on towards the Hayling Ferry. The ferry across is about £3.40 single or £4.00 return with a bike. After landing on Hayling Island follow the Ferry Road to Beachlands. There is a Cafe and Amusement park and also a Narrow Gauge Railway line to visit and ride. From here take the Havant Road (A3023) all the way to Langstone. Bear in mind this is a very busy and narrow road and the traffic is quite heavy down here. Head over the Langstone Bridge and turn left at Havant Roundabout. Follow the bike signs onto the Bike Route 2 along past Zirotech and along the cycle way past Farlington to Eastern Road (A2030). Head across Burfields Bridge and along Eastern Road to the Anchorage Road turn off. Follow this road up to Old London Road and turn into Oakwood Road. Turn left into Northern Parade and head back into Stamshaw again. | |
