Cycle Steps |
1. This a nice, not to difficult, route with three climbs along the way. The first into Long Crendon, the second at Bunkers Hill and finally Tumbledown Hill into Cumnor. For the rest you have long sweeping roads with slight inclines and lovely long downhills. Most of the journey is relatively quiet especially Merton to Bladon. Out of interest, if the wind is SSE, then 90% of the time it is a head wind, so you might not want to do it on a very windy/blustery day. It should take between 4 and 4 and a quarter hours at an average of 14.5 mph. Might be more suited to the more experienced or long distance cyclist, but don't be put off if you like a challenge. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Not a lot along the way. Plenty of nice looking pubs, but I have never been into any of them. You pass The Oxfordshire golf course, a driving range, reclamation yard as you enter Oakley. You do pass close by to Blenheim Palace, and opposite the White House pub in Bladon, Winston Churchill is buried in Saint Martin church.
