Cycle Steps |
1. Ride should take around 2 hours. Ascent to Biggin Hill then steep descent into Westerham then flat into Sevenoaks. Starting in Catford cycle on the Bromley Road out of Lewisham Borough. After passing Southend Lane on the right there is a slight ascent, for about 1/2 mile, into Bromley. There is a bike shop on the left in Bromley as you follow the road through the town centre. Take a right just outside Bromley to travel away from the main road and through a residential area. There are two pubs in Leaves Green. Passing Biggin Hill airport you will see a WW2 Spitfire/Hurricane? aeroplane. There is a steep hill descent into Westerham which is wearing on the brakes. Then it flattens out as you ride toward Sevenoaks. On the outside of Sevenoaks is the railway station with trains running back to London Blackfriars. All on road some A and B roads. Traffic is quite heavy in Catford Bromley but little traffic outside Bromley.
