1. This is a lovely scenic route which I discovered this summer (2009) and takes you from Bangor on to Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon and then through the valleys and past some beautiful lakes to Llanrwst. It is a moderate challenge, with a pretty steep winding section at one stage between Llanberis and Capel Curig. But to be honest I was really surprised at how casual it was considering the path it takes through the mountains! However it is pretty long (I did it in two phases, camping halfway in Llanberis for an ascent of Mount Snowdon in between). It is also a great route because you can stay at a hotel or at least leave your car in Bangor and then get the train back there easily from Llanrwst via Llandudno Junction. |
